I don't know about you but treats and chocolates are a big part of my life, so much that I get frustrated that every time I crave for some sweets and check out groceries for something to eat, I always end up empty-handed. Even hoping against all hope doesn't work most of the time. I know I am exaggerating, this barely happens in Australia, but since I moved to the Philippines, even finding a decent bar of vegan chocolate is a mission. Here, I go to groceries and I’m appalled at how many ingredients are in a pack of chocolates, ingredients that are unnecessary like artificial flavours, colours, additives, and high amount of sugar & salt too.
But in the advent of the World Wide Web and food bloggers, it is amazing at how incredibly uncomplicated it is to make food in the comfort of one's home. Creating food out of simple ingredients without all the nasties and creating food that is better for the health, for the planet, and for the animals has never been this easy.
Today, I made Date & Coconut Rough Bliss Balls. Using just two ingredients and my food processor's help, I was able to make treats minus all the ingredients I don't like.
This recipe is easy-peasy, super yummy, and is an instant hit with healthy-eaters and non-healthy eaters alike.

Date & Coconut Rough Bliss Balls
(Makes 7 balls at 30 grams each)
Equipment: food processor
Ingredients
2 cups organic desiccated coconut
150 grams organic dates
Method
Blend until fully mixed and resembles a dough. Roll into balls and coat with desiccated coconut.
Best served chilled. Can also be frozen for longer shelf-life in an air-tight container.
